It’s 2019 and I still can’t believe this

Humans need to stop.

I don’t believe most of everything.

Not the words you're throwing my way just so you’d seem more important.

Nor those silly comments you make pretending their jokes.

Never will I understand the lame questions you ask just to show everyone that you’ve been listening.

I won’t take in the way you rephrase a sentence that’s just been said so you sound smarter.

The way you smile as I speak as though you’re agreeing, but deep down I know those eyes, I know you’re making fun of me inside.

Or those who stare at you widely as you talk waiting for you to make a simple mistake so they can highlight it, yup I don’t believe them either.

I can’t believe it at all! Why are we mostly surrounded by those? Couldn’t it be way simpler?

Couldn’t we all aim to understand one another and assess one’s initial intention?

Wouldn’t it be easy to just say what we think and feel and forget what anyone might judge, because they won’t judge at all?

The world would’ve been at ease if you didn’t have to make fun of someone's way of thinking, decisions, accent, looks or style.

It would be nice to know that the person you are communicating with is only wondering about what to say back to you at this very moment instead of their eyes roaming around your every being pondering what they want to criticise back.

Can’t we believe that each one of us has a story and that without it, we are all non-existent? That the way we talk to others should only be based on the circumstance they’re in right now.

If we could only give each other a giant ego boost every day, the world would be a more successful place for all of us.

I still can’t believe it, that by the year 2019, with all those “righteous” campaigns and where nearly everything has been developed, humans have chosen to still f*ck with one another.

It’s all about jotting it down in words.
