Nature doesn’t pretend

We do…

Has anyone noticed how easy it has become for humans to pretend? Pretend we’re happy, pretend we’re in love, or maybe the opposite.

We wear these masks, we’re not even sure whether they serve us right. They might be giving a certain momentary situation justice, but on the long-run, when the story has connected, when all has cleared up, is it truly what you wanted to do? To pretend? To trick others into believing what you selfishly thought was right? Who are we? Who am I and who are you to choose whether a genuine feeling or act must be polished up for the sake of a person, thinking that’s the smart thing to do. Meddling with honesty and the spontaneity of life’s pure course only leads us into darker places. Places where we’d freeze and question how we got there to begin with, when it has been us all along.

Us, we are the cause to our own pain, the reason people we love are not OK, because we “thought” we were protecting them, because “pretending” is a natural part of being. It’s not. It cannot be. Nature doesn’t pretend. Nature just is. Nature shows us its true colors throughout all seasons.

We are the only unnatural beings. The type of souls who believe love is weakness and pretending not to fall is Power.
